Charles Leslie Carr was born on March 31, 1947 and left this world on August 29, 2019. His parents were Cecil and Lorene Carr of Paducah, TX. He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Charles Lynne. He is survived by his wife Betty Carr of Paducah, one daughter, Tammy Harrison, a son-in-law, Jimbo Harrison, two grandsons Colby Harrison of Paducah, and Casey Harrison of Amarillo. One twin brother David Carr and his wife Barbara from Plainview. Many nephews and nieces up to great-nephews and nieces. Also, many friends.
Charles quit school as a junior at the age of 17 to start farming. He has farmed for 55 years. He also worked for the county as a motor grader for many years. He was on the King Cottle water board for many years. He had many things he loved to do. One was spending time with his Greyhound named Blue, and to ride horses with Colby. It didn’t matter where, as long as he was with Colby. He taught Casey how to farm. His daughter farmed with him for as long as she can remember. He had one true love, and that was Betty. They have been married for 51 years and in those years, they did everything side by side. He met Betty in a cotton field hoeing cotton for his parents.
Charles taught everyone around him what keeping his word meant. He loved the Lord and was taught that at an early age. He was a soft spoken, loving, hard working man. If he told you something, it would be done. He will be truly missed.
