Judy J. (Murphy) Cartwright

Judy Murphy Cartwright at the age of 78, passed away on December 27  2019 in Crosbyton, TX.

Judy was born in Whiteflat, TX to Curtis and Opal Murphy on 11/9/1941. She attended school at Roaring Springs graduating in 1959.  She married Garland Cartwright on March 6, 1964 in Roaring Springs. Judy worked at the First State Bank of Matador for 41 years. She loved her customers and felt as if they were family.  Judy worked to make each customer feel special and tried to help them any way she could. Judy was involved in Eastern Star, First Baptist Church in Roaring Springs, the Roaring Springs IF table and the Roaring Springs homecoming committee.

Judy loved all animals but had a true fondness for her Cats and loved to watch birds.  Judy had her favorite house cats but she took care of several cats in the neighborhood and loved helping with her friends’ animals.  She and her friends enjoyed shopping and eating out.  Judy loved playing golf with her friends and husband.  She had several “kids” she loved watching play sports and visiting. 

Judy is preceded in death by her parents and her brother Bobby Jack (Rusty) Murphy.  
 
Judy is survived by her husband Garland Cartwright, her daughter Tina Tucker and husband Cliff and Granddaughter Christina Andrews.

Viewing will be from 9 to 4 on Sunday, December 29 at Zapata Funeral home in Matador, TX.
 
Funeral services will be held Monday, December 30, 2019 at East Mound Cemetery at 11:00 a.m.
  
Pallbearers will be Brad Jameson, Jerry Jones, Jade Jones, Lee Jones, Logan Jones, Noah Guerrero, Donnie Jackson, Pat Smith, Joe Don Warren and Chris Brooks.
 
Memorials may be given East Mound or Roaring Springs cemetery.
