Nolan Davis Obituary

Nolan Odell Davis, 82 of Matador, Texas decided it was time to stop with all of these earthly shenanigans. On June 21, 2019 he said, that’s it, I’m done, rolled over and went to be with our Lord and Savior.

His beloved wife, Dollie Mae of 41 long, long years inherited a huge lawn to mow, shop full of God knows what, 4 vehicles and you guessed it, 3 kittens and a momma cat. Bless her heart!

Nolan was well known for his lack of patience, not holding back his opinion and a knack for telling it like it is. He always told you the truth even if it wasn’t what you wanted to hear.

He liked his four-letter words as much as he liked his welding equipment (this is evident by his obsessive compulsiveness to have multiplies of every tool you can image). Another known passion was his farming. This was certainly a part of his life he was always proud of.

Our United States Air Force was greeted by Mr. Davis in 1955 as he proudly served this country for many years.

He will be sorely missed and survived by 2 sisters, Mary Houghton of Kerrville, TX and Barbara Hendriex of Midland, TX, and a whopping 7 children, Ronnie Davis of Tuttle, OK, Mark Davis of Grenville, NM, Patricia (Patty) Davis Isbell of Chico, TX, Gary Davis of Yukon, OK, Rebecca Ezell Ballew of San Angelo, TX, Jeff Jones of San Angelo, TX and Judy Smith of San Angelo, TX and numerous Grand and Great Grandchildren.  He is preceded in death by his parents, Nolan and Annie Davis and 2 brothers, Kenneth and Johnny Davis.

June 28, 2019, family and friends will join together to say farewell to this husband, father, and brother. A military service will be held at 11:00am at the Texas State Veterans Cemetery, 7457 W. Lake Road, Abilene, TX.

Arrangements are being handled by Zapata Funeral Home, 904 N. 13th Street, Paducah, TX.
