Petra (Guajardo) Hinojosa

Petra Hinojosa, 87, loving wife, sister, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother went to be with the her Heavenly Father on Thursday October 10th, 2019 in Matador, TX.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 pm Monday October 14th, 2019 at the St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Paducah, TX.  Burial will immediately follow in Garden of Memories cemetery under direction of Zapata funeral home.

Visitation will be Sunday from 6-8pm at Zapata Funeral Home with rosary at 7pm.

Petra was born on January 18th, 1932 to Enrique and Severa Guajardo in Pearsall, TX. She married her husband Guadalupe Hinojosa Sr on December 11, 1948 in Pearsall, TX.

They moved to Paducah in 1960 where they raised their children and helped raise their grandchildren. She spent her time crocheting and making clothes and blankets for her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Enrique and Severa Guajardo, her husband Guadalupe Hinojosa, her daughter Blanca Canales, brothers Lorenzo Guajardo and Roberto Guajardo, and sisters Maria Hernandez and Candilaria Elizondo.

Survivors include her children David and Minnie Hinojosa of Cleburne TX, John and Desi Hinojosa of Paducah,  Diana and Eligio Vela of Paducah, Jerry and Janie Hinojosa of Paducah, Guadalupe Hinojosa of Paducah and Joel Hinojosa of Vernon, TX, 18 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren, and 5 great great grandchildren.
