Robert “Bob” James Isbell passed on from this life on October 12th, 2019 in Lubbock, Texas. Bob was born into life on January 2nd, 1939 in Paducah, Texas to Ernest and Minnie Louise Isbell. He joined the Air Force at the age of 16 where he went on to serve in three different branches of the military. Bob was a disabled Vietnam veteran who spent a total of twenty years in the Airforce, Army, and Navy before retiring as a member of the Naval Reserves. Bob married his wife Rita Annette Smith on May 29th, 1971. Bob spent his career as a contractor working in general construction.
Robert “Bob” James is survived by wife, Rita Annette Isbell; son, James Robert Isbell and wife, Monica of Abilene, Texas; sister, Betty Walters of Lubbock, Texas; brothers, Ernest Isbell and wife, Linda of Highland Village, Texas, Terry Isbell and wife, Carol of California and Shelby Isbell; sister-in-law, Earlene Isbell of Abernathy, Texas; three grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Bob was preceded in death by his mother and father, baby brother Jerry Isbell and brother Bill Isbell.
Memorial service will be held Saturday, October 26th at Zapata Funeral Home in Paducah, Texas beginning at 2pm.
