It is with great sadness that the family of Ima Ruth Sweet York announce her passing on October 5th, 2018 at the age of 90.

Ruth was born March 28th 1928 in Leedey, OK, the second child of Alva and Ola Sweet. Ruth married Buster York in Stephenville, TX June 4th, 1946. Buster and Ruth moved to west Texas and started their family living in the Post and Canyon Valley area, and finally moving to Spur in 1973.

Ruth was very devoted to her family. She lived a life of service to the Lord and was always caring for others with her kind and gentle spirit.

Ruth will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Clara Ruth Butler (Jerry Don) of Spur, Tommie Faye Boswell of Missoula, MT, Debra Kay Wilson (Travis) of Lubbock, Dora Maye Hood (Wayland) of Lubbock. Ruth will be sadly missed by her grandchildren, Richard Boswell (Jennifer), Janelle Rosas, Justin Boswell, Belinda Clifton, Chris Green, Rodney Boswell, Jennifer Konkler, Kristie Green, Matthew Clifton, Davis Hood, and Stephenie Hood. Ruth was blessed with 19 great grandchildren, and 6 great-great grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her husband, Buster in 2001, daughter Ruby Lee Clifton in 2016, father Alva, mother Ola, brothers Walter and Johnny, and sister Ruby Lawrence.

The family will receive friends Tuesday October 9th from 5-7 pm at Zapata Funeral Home 602 Burlington Spur, TX. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday October 10th at 10 am at First Baptist Church 120 W 2nd Spur, TX followed by Interment at the Spur Memorial Cemetery
