Obituary

Anges “Aggie” Marie Birdwell, 86, of Paducah, TX passed away to her heavenly reward on July 5, 2023 surrounded by her loved ones. Aggie was born on May 26, 1937 in Dimmit, TX to Tom B and Dovie Sandlin Ellis.

On May 6, 1961, she married the love of her life, Joe Birdwell, in Dallas, TX. Aggie & Joe were married for forty beautiful years. Aggie worked as a hairdresser for many years. While living in Lubbock, she was a member of various sororities. She enjoyed taking art lessons with her sister. She also was an jokester.

Aggie is survived by her sisters Anna Lois Mason, Tommie Dell Butler & Mary Lou Hawkins, brothers Otis Nelson Ellis, Truman Burnett Ellis and Eldon Garvis Ellis.

Aggie is preceded in death by her husband, Joe Birdwell, her parents Tom B and Dovie Ellis, four sisters Elizabeth Piper, Rosa Lee Rainwater, Brenda Sue Ellis and Christy Ellis.

A visitation is scheduled for Sunday July 9, 2023, from 2pm to 4pm at Zapata Funeral Home in Paducah, TX. Entombment will be held Monday July 10, 2023 at 10am at Resthaven Memorial Park in Lubbock, TX under the direction of Zapata Funeral Home.
