Alton Leon Jones

Alton Leon Jones ,82, of Paducah, TX went home to be with the Lord on Sunday May 10,2020 in Paducah, TX. He was born on October 18,1937 in Paducah, TX to Allie Lawton “A.L” and Mary Ann (Matney) Jones. After graduating from Paducah High School in 1956, he attended a TV service school in Denver, Colorado. He came back to Paducah to be the town repairman. He Married Phyllis Maxfield on March 23, 1958 in Paducah, TX. Later in 1972, after his father passed away, he continued his dad’s business, A.L sporting goods, until his death. He also worked for Merchants Freight and owned a laundry service and done electrical work.

One of the things on his bucket list he accomplished was getting his pilots license in 1968 and having 37 years sobriety. He enjoyed raising parakeets. fishing and making his quail calls.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Phyllis of 63 years, daughter Daisha Lynne, son Russell “Rusty” and his dog” Duke” and is mother-in-law Leota Brooks Maxfield. His is preceded in death by his parents, sister Margie Ruth Shipley, brothers Wilme H Jones and Elmer V. Jones

Private memorial service was held by the family on Thursday April 29,2021 at 1:00pm Garden of Memories Cemetery with Pastor Matt Brown and Donna Roberts Music.
