Barbara Ruth Lewis Eckles was born in Colorado City, Texas, on June 5, 1943, and was welcomed into Heaven by her Savior and loved ones on
September 18, 2025.
Visitation to be held on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, from 5-6 p.m. at The
Zapata Funeral Home in Spur, Texas. Funeral services to follow at 10 a.m. on
Wednesday, September 24, 2025 at the Spur Methodist Church.
Throughout her life, Barbara wore many hats and held countlesstitles—Bobby, Barbie, Barb, Ruthie, Mom, Wife, Sister, Mrs. Eckles, Track
Mama, the Boss Lady, Queen—and so much more. Above all, Barbara was abeloved mother, grandmother, and prayer warrior. Her life was anchored in
unwavering faith and defined by deep love, grace, and devotion—first to her Savior, and then to her family. She loved boldly, prayed fiercely, and shared
her faith with courage and conviction. She leaves behind a lasting legacy of strength, compassion, and wisdom for all who were blessed to know her.
Barbara is preceded in death by her father, Bob Lewis; her mother, Florence Lewis; her brother, Robert “Bubba” Lewis; and her great-grandson, Wren
Moore.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Sparky Eckles; daughters, Dedra and husband Trent Driggers, Audra and husband Todd Bryant, Missy and
husband Jimmy Burson, and Jennifer and husband Stacy Bridges. Her 12 grand-blessings, Colby and wife Cylie Driggers, Tyler and wife Laura
Driggers, and Jentri and husband Layton Turner; Britney Bryant and significant other Matthew Montoya, Stephen and wife Jillian Bryant, and
Brianna Bryant and significant other Orion Walker; Jordan and husband Travis Moore, Taylor Burson, Lane Burson, and Logan Burson; Brice
Bridges and Brock Bridges. As well as 13 great-grandchildren. Her sister, Brenda and husband Jack Martin; sister Camille and husband Danny Emory;
and brother Micah and wife Kimberly Lewis. As well as many other extended family members.
