Cal Junior Walker II passed to his heavenly reward on Sunday, November 27, 2022. Known as C.J. to his friends and family – he was born in Floydada, Texas to Cal and Fay Walker on December 29, 1984. Having confessed his faith at an early age as a member of Lakeside Baptist Church in Spur, Texas, CJ filled his life with many adventures, wonderful memories and a steadfast faith in God.
He received his education from Spur ISD where he played football, basketball and track. In 2002 C.J. was the 1A state champ in shotput and runner-up in 2003. He graduated high school in 2003 and then attended South Plains College and West Texas University Canyon. From 2007 to 2014 he was a member of the West Texas Outlaws semi-pro football team in Lubbock.
After leaving college, C.J. entered the workforce and tried his hand at many different endeavors until he found his passion. He worked for TxDOT in Lubbock, Dickens, Taylor, San Saba, and Jones Counties.
His radiant smile, and charming personality earned him many friends. He was loved by all who knew him. His favorite sayings were "Act like you know me, not like you owe me" and “For all my pain and suffering that I've been through."
He was engaged to the love of his life, Rachael Eubank on May 1, 2021. He was the biggest cheerleader for his kids, nieces and nephews – showing up for birthday parties, games, and many other activities. He was incredibly proud of his kids Brendon and Tatum.
Earlier this year, C.J shared his experience on his walk to Emmaus.
He was preceded in death by his sister Kpri Walker, maternal grandparents Joe Lee and Ivra Mae Childers, and paternal grandparents Stella Walker and Horace Henderson.
C.J. is survived by: his children Brendon Walker of Lubbock and Tatum Walker of Anson; his parents Cal and Fay Walker of Spur; his Fiancé Rachael Eubank of Anson; his sisters April Lewis (James) of San Antonio, Kandes Hooper (Zach) of Winters; brother Michael Kelley (Shelby) of Salina, Kansas; six nieces, two nephews, a host of aunts, uncles and cousins; and the Class of 2003 and many friends.
