Castulo Gonzalez

Castulo G. Gonzalez Sr., 95, of Matador, TX passed away on Tuesday, October 12, 2021 in Corpus Christi, TX. He was born in Pleasanton, TX on March 26, 1926. He married Juanita Gonzalez on April 2, 1944 in Pleasanton, TX. They would later move to Matador, TX in 1963 to raise a family and call it home.

Those left to cherish his memory 5 sons; Antonio (Romana) Gonzalez of Matador, TX, Pedro (Toni) Gonzalez of Matador, TX, Victor (Beatriz) Gonzalez of Tahoka, TX, Jesus (Irene) Gonzalez of Gregory, TX, Castulo Jr. (Bentura) Gonzalez of Sinton, TX, two daughters; Lupe Reyna and Janie Reynaga both of Imokallee, FL, 23 grandchildren and too many to count great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by 3 brothers; Barborito, Panteleo and Nives Gonzalez.

Pallbearers are made up of grandsons and great-grandsons.

A visitation is scheduled from 6:00pm-8:00pm on Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at Zapata Funeral Home in Matador, TX.

Funeral service scheduled for 2:00PM on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Matador, TX. Officiating is Fr. Nanato Cruz, pastor of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Matador.

Interment is to follow at Roaring Springs Cemetery in Roaring Springs, TX under the direction of Zapata Funeral Home.
