Charlotte Ann Hudson died on April 8, 2026, in Lubbock, TX, at the age of 83, surrounded by her family.
Charlotte was born on November 13, 1942, in Spur, Texas, to Cecil and Odessa Hagar. She was raised a Baptist, always seeing the example of a faithful servant in her mother. Charlotte accepted Jesus as her Savior and followed in baptism.
She graduated from Girard High School in 1960 at 17 years old. Upon graduation, she began working for Spur Security Bank. In 1971, she took a break from the workforce to stay home and raise her daughters. In 1990, she resumed her career at Spur Security Bank, retiring in 2007.
She married Dwain Hudson on December 22, 1961, in Sweetwater, TX, and they settled in Spur to raise their family. In 1966, she welcomed her first daughter, Anjanette, and five years later, her second daughter, Monique.
Charlotte’s favorite title was Nana. She loved her grandchildren dearly and was thrilled whenever they came to visit. She loved supporting them in all their endeavors; whether they were singing on stage, playing football, running at a track meet, competing in the Special Olympics, or giving a speech, she was always so proud. She loved her great-grandchildren just as deeply and had begun the joyful new chapter of cheering them on in all of their activities.
Charlotte loved her close circle of friends and never missed a day of talking on the phone with them or watching the Lady Raiders, win or lose.
Charlotte loved a good trip and recently went on a four-generation trip to Branson (her favorite place on earth) where she had the time of her life. “Memories to last a lifetime,” she said.
Charlotte is survived by her two daughters, Anjanette Hudson Ferguson and Monique Hudson, both of Lubbock; her grandchildren, Brooke Perkins (Kole) of Lubbock, Bryce McHam (Kaylee) of Lubbock, Brandon Ferguson of Lubbock, Bristi McHam (Kylee) of Lubbock, and Beth Ferguson of Abilene; her great-grandchildren, Oliver, Millie, Zayden, Kai, and Paisley, all of Lubbock; her sister-in-law, Nancy Hagar of Girard; her dear friend, Jeannie Spradling of Spur; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Odessa Hagar; her husband, Dwain Hudson; and her brothers, Troy Hagar and C.V. Hagar.
A private family graveside service will be held in celebration of her life.
