Danny Davis
February 14, 1947 – May 26, 2026
Danny Lee Davis passed away on Tuesday, May 26, 2026 after a lengthy illness in Paducah, Texas. He was born on February 14, 1947 in Electra, Texas to W.I. “Bill” Davis and Maurice Crutcher Davis. He married Charlotte Elaine Nelson on March 5, 1965 at her parents house in Paducah.
Danny was a long-time resident of Cottle County. He grew up in the Delwin community where he helped his dad with cotton farming and raising animals. He worked at Phillips 66 owned by Tom Liedtke. He then spent time as a cotton farmer and enjoyed many hobbies with his family and friends. He enjoyed racing cars, trucks and motor cross bikes. He even had a race track behind his house in Delwin. On August 19, 1985 Danny opened up Davis Service Center which was affiliated with Phillips 66. It was a full service station where you could fill up your tank and know they would check your tires and check under the hood for you.
Danny is preceded in death by his wife Charlotte Elaine Nelson Davis; his parents, W.I. “Bill” and Maurice Davis; his brother Jimmy Ray Davis and his wife Barbara Davis; his parents-in-law Troy and Ira Bill Nelson; his nieces Stacie Raye Davis and Sharisa Williamson, and grandson Moses Daniel Raye Mercado.
Those left to cherish his memory are his four daughters: Tonya D. Seigler (David) of Tyler, TX; Paula Davis of Hawley, TX; Jessica Larned (Mike) of Childress, TX and Cassandra Garcia (Robert) of Stone Mountain, GA; his sister, Charlene Hoyle of Amarillo, TX; his sister-in-law Sharron Nelson Taylor (Victor) of Amarillo, TX; his Aunt Helen Crutcher Whitfield of Vernon, TX; 1 nephew, 3 nieces, 15 grandchildren and 8 great grandkids.
Danny and Elaine were both put on Hospice at Home on February 17th, 2026. We will be holding a Memorial service for both of them on June 6, 2026 at 2:00 pm at the First Baptist Church in Paducah, TX.
