Doris (Isbell) Glidewell

Doris Deen Isbell Sexton Glidewell, 92, passed from this life, September 19, 2020.  She was born September 18, 1928 in Paducah, Texas to Joe and Ruby (Strickland) Isbell.  She married Silvanus (Sib) Sexton in December 1946.  Following his death, she married Kenneth Glidewell.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Paducah, where she sang in the choir and was the head of the kitchen committee for many years.

Doris became an LVN and was active in nursing for 30 years and worked at Richards Memorial Hospital and was Director of Nurses at the Paducah Nursing Home.  When she wasn’t working, she enjoyed gardening and taking care of her cows.

She is survived by, daughter, Judy Canon and husband Dorton of Abilene, Texas;  son, Terry Sexton and wife Vickie of Paducah; granddaughters, Tammye Shadle and husband Kevin; and Nakia Hargrave; great grandchildren, Slade Shadle and wife Samantha ; Julia Hargrave; two great great grandchildren, Sadie and Sullivan Shadle.

She was preceeded in death by her parents; husband Silvanus (Sib) Sexton, and grandson, Joshua Sexton.
