Eileen Dixon, 92, of Spur died Sunday, September 14, 2008. Services will be 2PM, Friday, September 19, 2008 at First United Methodist Church in Spur with Rev. Larry Burton officiating. Burial will be in Spur Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Campbell Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM, Thursday at the funeral home.
Eileen was born February 11, 1916 in Terry County, TX to S.E. and Viola Alderson Chisolm. She moved with her family to Dickens County in 1925. She graduated from Dickens High School in 1934. She married Bob Dixon December 23, 1937. They lived and worked on the Spur Headquarters Ranch from the time that they were married, where Bob was ranch foreman and Eileen cooked. Bob preceded her in death in 1973. Eileen continued to live at the ranch and cook for the "boys". Over the years, Eileen was active in Home Demonstration Club, Quilters, worked as an election clerk, and was very active in First United Methodist Church.
She is survived by three sisters, Ella Reynolds and Addie Fowler both of The Colony, TX, and Mary Geneva Smith of Levelland, TX; one sister-in-law, Arlene Chisolm of Austin, TX; and many, many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; three brothers, Lloyd Chisolm, Sonny Chisum and John Carter; and one sister, Ruby Curry.
