Emily Ruth Cobb Oney

July 22, 1927 - December 8, 2018

Emily Oney was born Emily Ruth Cobb in Paducah Texas on July 22, 1927, the fifth child of 12 children of Weldon and Gertrude Cobb.  She lived in Colleyville and Paducah, where she graduated from Paducah high school, then moved to Wellington, Texas in 1962. Emily married JB Oney on August 31, 1946 and together they had three children.

 Emily is survived by Daughter Susan Oney Murphree of Austin, TX where Emily has lived since late 2010. Four grandchildren, Michelle Spradley, husband Jimmy Spradley, and great grandsons Camden and Nolan; Sarah Clark, husband Dustin Clark, and great granddaughter Jayce and great grandson Dylan; granddaughters Emily Murphree and Angela Dancy Reeder, husband Ryan Reeder, and great granddaughter Sterling Reeder. She is preceded in death by her husband JB who passed away in Cleburne TX, 2009, with Emily by his side as well as son Bruce in 2009, daughter Barbara Ruth Oney  at birth.

Emily loved being in business and serving as bookkeeper in several small business enterprises with her beloved husband JB.  She treasured her loving parents, 11 siblings and many nieces and nephews.

She went home to be with the Lord on December 8, 2018.  Her family already misses her and always will.  She was a member of the First Methodist Church in Paducah and later in Wellington.

The family will receive visitors at 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at the Paducah funeral home and will be laid to rest in Paducah Cemetery following a graveside service at 2:00 p.m. , following the visitation on Tuesday.
