FRANKIE MAE MAYNARD

Frankie Mae Maynard, 98, of Jayton, Texas, passed away on March 1, 2026, in Aspermont, Texas.

Frankie was born on January 22, 1928, in Travis County, Texas, to Charlie Clyde Smith and Myrtle Faye Smith. She married the love of her life, John Maynard, on April 15, 1944, in Travis County. He preceded her in death on July 17, 2005.

A devoted homemaker, Frankie dedicated her life to caring for her family. She was a talented seamstress who lovingly made clothes for her children and created many beautiful quilts that will be treasured for generations. She enjoyed cooking for her family, gardening in her younger years, and spending time reading. Frankie was known as an all-around good woman whose life reflected her strong Christian faith.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Maynard; her sons, Howard Maynard and Benjamin Maynard; and her daughter, Juanita Pierce.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Frances VanHouten, Shirley Roberts, and Sarah Maynard; her sons, Horace “Buddy” Maynard and Billy Joe Maynard; along with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and extended family members.

A Graveside service will be held 10:00am Thursday March 05, 2026 at the Girard Cemetery with Pastor Nathan Smith officiating under the direction of Zapata Funeral Home.
