Gearl " Ray" Thomas

Gearl Ray Thomas was born on July 24,1959 in Smyrna, Tennessee to William Clayton and Julie Mae Thomas. Ray-Ray, as he was known to family and friends, passed away suddenly on April 30,2023.

He spent most of his life in Matador, Texas, graduating from Motley County High School in 1978. He married in 181 and worked hard to take care of his family. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, as well as riding around in town. He also enjoyed going to the local coffee shop and catching up on the latest local occurrences. He was well known for teasing family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents and parents.

He is survived by a daughter, Sherri McInturf, and three grandchildren who he loved dearly. Brother, Richard Thomas, a niece and nephew and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
