Jack Parks Obituary

Lorin Jackson Parks was born on November 7, 2002 in Lubbock, Texas to Ron and Jori Parks. He passed from this life on September 19, 2024. Jack grew up in Paducah, Texas where he attended Paducah ISD and graduated from Paducah High School in 2021. In high school he was involved in FFA where he was a district officer and 4-H. He showed steers, goats, lambs, and rabbits and showed at all the Texas major livestock shows through his show career. He was also a National Roper’s Supply Show Team Member. He participated in football, basketball, tennis and track. 

After high school Jack became a Red Raider at Texas Tech University where he was a senior.. He was a natural resources major with an animal science minor. At Tech, he was president of Alpha Zeta ag service fraternity and had recently joined the Agri-Techsans, a recruiting organization for the Davis College of Agriculture at Texas Tech University.  He was also involved in the Sleep in Heavenly Peace organization and Big Brother and Big Sisters of Lubbock.He attended Trinity Church in Lubbock. Jack was a member of the Paducah Volunteer Fire Department.  He worked at Texas Tech Quail and also interned at the Strickling Ranch in Santa Fe, New Mexico. He had spent many hours riding with Texas DPS, Lubbock PD, Hockley County Sheriff’s Department, Lubbock County Sheriff’s Department, Cottle County Sheriff’s Department and Texas DPS in preparation for a career in law enforcement. He had aspired to be a Texas DPS trooper after graduation from Texas Tech. 

Jack enjoyed spending time with his friends and family both in Lubbock and Paducah. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his brother, Jett.  He had his own cattle and enjoyed tending them as well as taking care of his family’s herd. 

Jack is survived by his parents, Ron and Jori Parks; a brother, Jett Parks, an aunt Laura Bratton;  an aunt Richelle Lundberg, an aunt and uncle Donna and Russell Moore; his grandparents Paul and Willie Mae Parks, a host of cousins, and friends. 

Jack is preceded in death by his grandparents, Nancy and Jackie Bratton. 

The family suggests donations to Sleep In Heavenly Peace Lubbock, the Paducah Volunteer Fire Department or the Jack Parks Memorial Scholarship Fund.
