Johnnie Lee Carlisle, 91, of Spur passed away on Monday, December 7, 2020 in Lubbock, Texas. She was born August 28, 1929 in Bomarton, Texas to Johnny and Mary Lee Johnson.
Johnnie married Rex Carlisle on February 6, 1960 in Lubbock, TX. They made their home in Spur, Texas. Rex died April 17, 2006.
Any day playing golf with her friends was a perfect day for Johnnie. Having a houseful of family and friends was an even better day. She loved cooking and having everyone in her kitchen. She will always be remembered for her quick wit, her bluntness and her big loving heart.
She was preceded in death by husband, Rex, brother, Horace Johnson, sister, Judy Ellis and her parents.
Johnnie is survived by two sons, David Hale (Kathy) of Tahoka, Texas and R.D. Hale (Susie) of Snyder, Texas. Six daughters, Mary Ann Merritt (Jerry) of Woodward, Oklahoma, Reba Ooley (Richard) of Spearman, Texas, Brenda Randall (Jerry) of Lubbock, Texas, Sandra Cyr (Ron) of Mansfield, Texas, Shawnee Blancet of Wolfforth, Texas and Twila Key (Randal) of Spur, Texas. Two step-daughters Rexine Burden (Roy) of Kilgore, Texas and Marian Roberson (Gene) of Spur, Texas. She is survived by 21 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren, 26 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and one nephew.
