Johnny Lee “John” Christopher
September 28, 1958 – June 4, 2025
Johnny Lee Christopher, known lovingly as John, passed away peacefully on June 4, 2025, in Roaring Springs, Texas, at the age of 66. Born on September 28, 1958, in Odessa, Texas, John lived a life grounded in hard work, deep faith, and a fierce love for his family.
He graduated from Canyon High School in 1978 and soon after married the love of his life, Mitzi Christopher, on May 11, 1979, in Roaring Springs. Together, they built a beautiful life filled with laughter, perseverance, and family.
For the past 13 years, John worked as a ranch hand for BH Campbell, where he was known for his dedication, integrity, and humble nature. He found joy in the outdoors—hunting, fishing, and spending time under the wide Texas sky. He also had a soft spot for Hallmark movies and classic Western TV shows, but nothing brought him more happiness than being with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who knew and adored him as Popi.
John is survived by his devoted wife of 46 years, Mitzi Christopher; his children, Crystal Christopher, Tye Christopher and his girlfriend Jenny Cook, and Ky Christopher and his wife Azalia Christopher. He was a proud and loving grandfather to Logan Salazar, Braxton Salazar, Journi Salazar, Piper Christopher, and Hazael Christopher; and a cherished great-grandfather to Rinley Salazar, Jensen Salazar, Jett Salazar, and Cohen Salazar.
He is also survived by his sisters, Jimma (Steve) McMindes, Penny (Nick) Coleman, Judy Christian, and Ruth (David) Randall, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who will miss his steady presence and kind heart.
John was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Zona Christopher.
The family welcomes all who knew and loved John to gather and share memories in his honor.
