Katheryn "Kathy" Diane Lawrence

Katheryn Diane Lawrence (Kathy), of Matador TX was called home on Friday May 24, 2024, at the age of 74. Kathy was born in Matador Tx to Givens and Billie Ruth Lawrence on September 12, 1949.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Her son Joe Don (Jody) Ramsey, Her brother Rickey Lawrence, sister Linda Lawrence, sister LaRece Estes and nephew Casey Lawrence.

She is survived by her son Sean Ramsey of Matador TX, daughter Amanda Lara of Lubbock, TX, grandson Patrick and wife Meagan Ramsey of Gulfport, MS, great grandson Sean Patrick and great granddaughter Charlotte Rae, both of MS, sister-in-law Naomi Lawrence of Matador, nephew Chad Lawrence and wife Deniese of Roaring Springs, great niece Bailea Lawrence and great nephews Culley Lawrence and Riggs Lawrence all of Roaring Springs.

In earlier years Kathy lived in Lubbock, TX where she worked at Texas Tech Health Sciences Center. She moved to Lafayette, LA in 1998 where she worked for Haliburton for many years. She retired and moved back to her hometown of Matador in 2016. Once back in Matador she began working at the pro shop at the Roaring Springs Ranch Club, where she genuinely enjoyed her job and visiting with all the members. But she especially loved her coworkers that she considered not only friends but family.

Kathy loved her children with her whole heart and was known to them as their beloved “smother,” a name she was proud to own. She loved spending time with her children, family, and friends. She was a kind soul that always met you with a smile and warm conversation. She was a wonderful mother, Nana, Aunt, cousin, and friend whose loving spirit will truly be missed by so many.
