Kelly Don Reynolds

A Celebration of Life for Kelly Don Reynolds 62, of Idalou will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 9, 2022 at the First United Methodist Fellowship Hall, under the direction of Zapata Funeral Home.

Kelly died Friday, July 1, 2022.  He was born June 1, 1960 in Spur to Milton and Patricia Reynolds. He was a member of the Spur High School class of 1978. He served in the United States Air Force from 1978 to 1982 as a Fire Protection Specialist. For the past 18 years he worked as a steel erector building on numerous cotton gins all over. He loved his family and his faithful dachshund, Sparkles, who accompanied him fishing. He enjoyed collecting coins, working on his pond, woodworking, watching or listening to Bigfoot documentaries as well as anything on the Discovery Channel. He was a true Levis 501 white t-shirt Budweiser Marlboro cap wearing man.

He was preceded in death by his father, Milton Reynolds and by his grandparent’s S.C. and Mable Reynolds, Earl and Aletha Spears.

He is survived by his mother Patricia Reynolds of Spur and his wife of 18 years, Lydia DeLeon, along with his children: Jeanna Hulse of Las Vegas, Nevada ; Angie Reynolds of St. Paul, Minnesota; Jake Reynolds (Meghan) of Laughlin, Nevada; and Zachary Reynolds of Las Vegas, Nevada;  Abby Sexton of Idalou, Texas. Grandchildren: Alyssa Hulse and Joshua Hulse of Brooksville,  Florida; Sabian Lebya, Kameron Leyba, Ethan Leyba and Zane Leyba all of Las Vegas, Nevada; Jionni Reynolds and Stassi Tyson both from St. Paul, Minnesota; One great-granddaughter, Rylee Benitez of Brooksville, Florida, One sister, Darla Thomason of Spur, and one brother, Danny Reynolds (Mona) of Baird. Nieces Jodi Martinez (Ricky) of Spur, Danielle Williams (David) of Victoria, nephews Monty Thomason of Spur, Brodie Reynolds (Cassie) of College Station, Marshall Newman (Erin) of Tuscola along with several great nephews, great nieces and many cousins. He cherished his lifelong friendship with Duke Hill of Spur.

In Lieu of flowers, a memorial may be sent to the Spur Senior Citizens or favorite charity.
