February 12, 1932, Ira Dell Biddy entered this world. It was a cold, stormy, icy day.
The weather was so bad that travel to town was impossible; even a doctor could not get to the farm
to deliver a baby.
Her daddy, E.M.Jones, having a lot of common sense and experience delivering cattle,—did what
had to be done. “Doll” Jones delivered his and his wife’s (Ida Mae Jones) baby girl! All was well.
Doll looked at his baby daughter and said, “ we have two sons, this will be our little “Ladye”; and
so- her name—"Ladye”—stuck. Anyone who knows Ladye, knows that she lived up to her name.
Ladye was sitting at a sewing machine before she could walk. She became a master seamstress,
making all of her and her daughters clothes with designer quality and class. She even made western shirts,
suits and pants for her son, Bob.
Also a master cook—this is what all the grandkids remember the most. Great Food!!
She sat a beautiful table and presented all the food piping hot.
June 1st,1950, Ladye married Prentiss Biddy. They spent 73 years together.
While working for Shell Oil Company, Prentiss and Ladye traveled all over the United States.
After 30 years with Shell, they retired to Paducah, Tx —the place they always called home.
The word most used to describe Ladye was “sweet”. Her motto was, “if at all possible, be kind.”
She was a small in stature lady, but had a huge loving and forgiving heart.
Ladye is preceded in death by Prentiss. Survived by her daughter, Connie, and husband, Eddie
of Roanoke, Tx; son, Bob, and wife Teresa of Paducah; 4 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
Ladye was 93 years old when she entered the gates of Heaven. Heaven is now even more Glorious!!
The memories are precious-the love never ending!!
