Laurie Ann Murphy, 70, passed away on November 8, 2023, in Spur, TX after a valiant battle with cancer. She was born March 3, 1953, in Bay City, Michigan to Robert and Marion Murphy.
Survivors include her siblings, Joanne Forbes-Murphy and her wife, Jan, Thomas and his wife, Elena and Timothy and his wife, Cheryl, as well as many loving nieces: Claudia, Megan, Alyssa, Claire and Danica. She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Marion Murphy.
Laurie had a successful career in the Army Corp of Engineers and then in Marketing Research with multiple companies and then pursued her passion as an esthetician until her retirement. She loved to travel and spent a great deal of time in Europe with a particular love of Ireland. She was also a devoted animal lover and doted on her dogs and specifically her Irish Wolfhounds who brought great joy to her life.
Laurie spent her retirement years in Spur, Texas where she pursued another passion for tiny home living. She relished her independence and solitude in Spur.
