Linda Duncan Mendoza passed away peacefully at her home on January 11, 2026. She was born on June 16, 1945, in Floydada, Texas, to Silas and Ruth Duncan Jr., and spent her childhood there, graduating from high school in May 1963.
Shortly after graduation, Linda proudly served her country by joining the United States Army in July 1963. Following her military service, she pursued her calling in healthcare, attending nursing school in 1971. Linda devoted more than 40 years of her life to nursing, caring for others with compassion, dedication, and strength.
The youngest of five siblings, Linda treasured her family deeply. She married David Mendoza on May 16, 2002. He preceded her in death in 2023. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Si Duncan, Dorothy Dewberry, Sonya Jean Duncan, and Ruth Elaine Duncan, as well as her grandson, Ira Gaston.
Those left to cherish her memory include her sons, Dale Beaty and wife Tonya, David Beaty, and Todd Beaty and wife Charlena. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
In accordance with her wishes, no public service will be held. A private memorial service will take place at a later date.
