LouAnn Salazar Obituary

Lou Ann Marie Salazar, 41, of Matador, Texas, passed away on Thursday, April 20, 2023, in Matador.

Lou Ann was born on October 24, 1981, in Matador, Texas, to Alejandro and Aurelia Salazar. Her greatest pride was caring for her children; she would go against the world for her babies. And when her grand babies came along, nothing meant more to her than being their Tita. Lou Ann’s beautiful, perfect smile with dimples (which she passed on to her babies and grand babies) and sweet soul that touched so many. She had the best work ethic that impacted co-workers and the community that she served. There was never silence when she was around, Lou Ann always greeted everyone with the biggest, warmest hello. She showed the true meaning of never giving up physically and mentally. Lou Ann’s larger than life heart was known by all; her family and friends will greatly miss her.

Those left to cherish her memories are her parents, Alejandro and Aurelia Salazar of Matador, Texas; son Michael Silva of Hereford, Texas; daughters Gabby Silva of Matador, Texas, Alycia and Orlando Vargas of Hereford, Texas and Brianna and Mia Silva of Matador, Texas; grand babies Aj Silva, Annaleigha (peanut) and Nayeli (Luna) Vargas; spouse Jason Payne of Hereford, Texas; brothers Alex Jr. and Amanda Salazar of Matador, Texas, John (Tony) and Marcy Salazar of Paducah, Texas, Lorenzo (Lencho) and Rachelle Salazar of Lubbock, Texas and Gene and Veronica Salazar of Lubbock, Texas; sisters Laura Flores of Lubbock, Texas, Manda Salazar of Arlington, Texas and Erica Salazar of San Angelo, Texas; numerous tios, tias, nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

She is preceded in death by her grandfather Antonio Salazar, grandmother Janie Torres, grandfather Eugene Saldana Sr. and best friend Phillip Godino.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, May 6, 2023, at 11:00 A.M. at Full Gospel Church in Roaring Springs, Texas with Pastor Conner Mason officiating. A lunch will follow with friends and family after the service.
