Obituary

Marilyn Kay Brown was born in Baird, TX on February 21, 1952 to Joy and Martha Brown. She lived in Jal, NM until graduating high school in 1970. After studying in Lubbock, TX at a Business College, she moved to Paducah, TX where she met the love of her life, Wayne. They were married March 1, 1979 at the courthouse in Anson, TX on a cottonseed truck haul, while Wayne was working for G.E. Piper and Sons. Wayne owned a custom harvesting business and Kay joined him as part of the crew. They had four children and were a very close knit family. They all helped run the harvesting business. The Lehman crew traveled around TX, OK, CO, NM and other places to cut wheat, rye, lovegrass, milo and other crops. Wayne and Kay's legacy and hard work ethic live on in their children. Kay passed away at her home on August 25, 2023. Kay is preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Earl Lehman, Jr. and her father Joy Brown. She is survived by her mother Martha Brown, her siblings Don Brown, Ann St. Clair, Sharon Burress, and Gary Brown, her children Melissa Freeman, Bryan Lehman, Juliana Felts, and Cassie Buckner, 10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to Loaves and Fish, PO Box 876, in Paducah, TX 79248.
