Martha Ann Campbell Browning May 31, 1948 – March 5, 2025
Martha Ann Campbell Browning, age 76, of Lubbock, Texas, passed away peacefully on March 5, 2025, in Stephenville, Texas.
She was born on May 31, 1948, in Lubbock, Texas, to William Spencer Campbell and Martha Francis Campbell. Raised in Spur, Texas, Martha graduated from Spur High School and went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in education from Texas Tech University. With a love for teaching and a keen eye for interior decorating, she made a lasting impact on those around her, both in the classroom and through her beautiful designs.
On November 17, 1978, Martha married the love of her life, Jerry Wayne Browning. Together, they raised a family and spent most of their married life in Tucson, Arizona, where they pastored Pusch Ridge Christian Church until Jerry's passing in 2001.
Martha was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband Jerry, her brother Bill Campbell, and her stepdaughter Buni Leigh Browning.
She is survived by her sister, Linda Mahan of Birmingham, Alabama; her daughters Kristie Franklin and husband Bill, and Kasie Jenkins and Robin; her stepson, Brett Browning; her cherished grandchildren Kaleb McNeese, Charley Ann McNeese, Campbell Franklin, and John Franklin; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service to honor Martha’s life will be held on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Spur Methodist Church, under the direction of Zapata Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Spur Memorial Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Spence Campbell, Will Campbell, Jeff Ellison, Matt Ellison, Manny Maldonado, and JJ Akin.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Friday, March 7, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Zapata Funeral Home in Spur, Texas.
