Mildred Roberts Dilliard, age 100 went home to be with Jesus on April 5, 2021. Mildred was born December 8, 1920 to Nellie Chandler Roberts and Cephus Roberts in Cottle County, Texas. Mildred was the last living of 11 children.
She married Lee Roy Dilliard. August 15, 1936, they lived in Dumont, Texas and started their family. They had three children, Don, Nick and Denise.
Mildred was a mother to many, she taught Sunday School to beginners, and intermediates as well as teaching adult Sunday School classes until she was 97 years young. She was active in the Women on a Journey program at church and was a faithful church member of the First Baptist Church of Paducah, Texas. She helped with Guthrie School activities and attended ball games. She served as the County School Superintendent Secretary alongside with her husband who was the County Judge of King County for 15 years. She helped to turn adults and children toward Jesus and toward becoming a better person.
Mildred and Lee Roy resided in Cottle and King Counties most of their married life until they retired in 1985 and moved to Lubbock, Texas. In 2002 they returned to Paducah, when Lee Roy went to be with the Lord on November 16, 2003. Mildred lived in Abilene for a short time in 2013 and then returned to Paducah. In 2018 she moved to Lubbock and then October 2020 she moved to Abilene where she resided until her death.
Survivors are her 2 sons Donald Lee Dilliard (wife is deceased, Charlene Grant Dilliard) of Paducah, Texas. Nick Michael Dilliard and wife Mickie Rose Dilliard of Vernon, Texas. One daughter Denise Dilliard Rister and husband Jerry Rister of Abilene, Texas.
Grandchildren are Boyd Dilliard and wife Charmaine, Lacee Dilliard, Melissa Dilliard, Brandon Staggs and fiancé Nikki Anderson, and Tamara Staggs Wood and husband Jeremy. Great Grand Children are Axle Dilliard, Aerianna Chavez, Karisa Garza, Seth Staggs, Silas Staggs, Alexander Wood, and Hunter Wood. Great Great grandchildren are Riley Dilliard and Whitley Dilliard. With many nieces and nephews.
