Myrna “Carol” McClendon went to be with her Savior on May 12, 2021. She was born April 7, 1940 (but only she and the US Government knew that) in Cee Vee, Texas. She was a farmer’s daughter and eventually became a farmer’s wife. She had three children, eight grandchildren, and one great-grandson. Family was everything to Carol; she was a dutiful daughter and sister, devoted wife, tough Momma, and doting Meme. She attended and served the community through her church home, the First Christian Church of Paducah, for several years. She worked at Lynn Russell and Gary Lancaster’s CPA offices for many years, where she faithfully served her clients.
Carol will be remembered for many things, but above all her legacy is the strength and fierceness of love she possessed and instilled in her family. She was tough but fair, blunt but accurate, feisty but classy. She left her family with precious memories, pearls of wisdom, and the example of a firm woman of faith.
Carol was preceded in death by her husband Jerry, her daughter Lezlea, grandson Ross, and parents B.L. and Mary Roberts Carrick. She is survived by her brother Larry Carrick and his wife Carolyn; her son Jeff and his wife, Toni; her son Greg and his wife Susan; grandchildren Ainsley Davis and her husband Andrew, Collin and his wife Naomi, Mason and his fiancée Kylee, Brycen and his wife Sydnie, Megan Robinson and her husband Carter, Alec, and Madison; and great-grandson Micah.
