Nickie Don Hale, 84, of Roaring Springs passed away on Tuesday, May 10, 2022, in Lubbock, TX. He was born in Afton, TX to D.R. and Annabelle (Jennings) Hale on August 16, 1937.
Nickie was raised in the Panhandle area until graduating high school and joining the army where he served our country during the Korean Conflict. He came home and started his lifelong career as a peace officer. He worked in Texas and Georgia in progressing positions of responsibilities, including graduating from the FBI National Academy in Quantico, VA. He was a member of the Afton Baptist Church. Nickie was an avid gardener, he enjoyed hunting and fishing, and spending time with his family.
Those left to remember him are his wife, Janie McCorkle Hale of Roaring Springs; Son, Mitchell Hale (Carolyn) of Afton; daughter Michelle Hale Villalovos of Crosby County; and daughter Melanie Hale of Matthews, GA.; 4 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; sisters; Nancy Hale Braly (Bobby) of Cross Plains, TX and Judy Hale Clevenger (James) of Afton.
He is preceded in death by his parents, D. R. and Annabelle Hale, sister Peggy Dell Hale, brother Tommy L. Hale, first wife Jean (Melton) Hale; and grandson Nickie Glenn Hale.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, May 14, 2022, at 2:00 pm at the Afton Cemetery under the direction of Zapata Funeral home in Spur, Texas is managing all arrangements.
