Patsy Jo Condron
October 19, 1937 – October 11, 2025
Patsy Jo Condron, 87, of Spur, Texas, passed away on October 11, 2025, in Sweetwater, Texas. She was born on October 19, 1937, in Spur to Abb and Alma (Nixon) Smith.
On October 20, 1972, Patsy married the love of her life, Don Condron, in Spur, Texas. Together they raised three daughters and built a life centered around family, faith, and hard work. Patsy owned and operated Condron Insurance for many years, serving her community with dedication and care.
Patsy was a woman with a generous heart and a joyful spirit. She loved playing golf, riding horses, and spending time with her family and friends. A proud lifelong resident of Spur, she cared deeply about her hometown and the people in it. Known affectionately as “Grommie” to all who loved her, Patsy had a gift for making everyone feel like family. She was also a wonderful cook who loved nothing more than gathering loved ones around her table.
In the 1970s, she and Don led the Spur High School Rodeo Club, creating lifelong memories and friendships. Her laughter, warmth, and strong sense of community will be remembered always.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 47 years, Don Condron; her parents, Abb and Alma Smith; her daughter, Debra Keahi; and her brother, Fat Smith.
Patsy is survived by her daughters, Cindie Hester (Gary) and Karen Rainbolt (Terry), both of Sweetwater, six grandchildren; Alison (Justin) York of Odessa, Carey (Stephanie) Hester of Gatesville, Kendra Atkinson of West, Ketha (Jody) York of Lubbock, Rusty (Audra) Rainbolt of Sweetwater, Kelly (Connor) Cook of Snyder, Eleven Great Grandchildren; Jackson, Abby and Chloe York of Odessa, Madison Hester of Gatesville, Bailey, Summer and Rhilee Rainbolt of Sweetwater, Conley and Kinley Cook of Snyder, Clay York of Andrews, Madison (Nate) Hitt of Lubbock, and two great-great-grandchildren; Malachi and River. She is also survived by her sisters, Peggy Summer of Lubbock, Bonnie Edwards of Spur, Gracie Cockrell of Oklahoma City, and Glenda Stice of Paducah; and her brother, Bill Smith (Dana) of Spur.
Visitation will be held Friday, October 17, 2025, from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at Zapata Funeral Home, Spur, Texas.
Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at Spur Memorial Cemetery, Spur, Texas, with Rusty Rainbolt officiating.
