Peggy Darlene (Henderson) Bradford

Peggy Darlene (Henderson) Bradford, 76, of Spur, Texas passed away on May 12, 2022.  Peggy was born on December 2, 1945, in Ralls, Texas to EL and Clairsie Henderson.  They eventually moved to Spur where she attended Spur Public School and met the love of her life Roger Bradford and they married on June 1, 1960.  They lived on numerous ranches where she was always out alongside Roger taking care of things or cooking and feeding cowboys during branding season  

Peggy was a loving wife and mother who loved the Lord and attended the Baptist Church.  She never failed to tell everyone about God and His love for them. She loved her family and was always there for them in every way. Peggy and Roger were foster parents for over 20 years and cared for numerous children throughout that time, loving each of them as their own. Peggy always said when each child left her home, a piece of her heart left with them.  During this time she and Roger adopted 5 children who she loved with all of her heart.  Peggy also babysat several children throughout her life who she loved and considered part of her family   

Peggy loved all animals and never left a stray dog or cat if she saw one.  If she couldn’t find a home for them then she kept them. Not only dogs and cats but Peggy took in injured wild animals and nursed them back to health. 

She left behind her husband Roger, sons; Britt Bradford (Angella) of Roswell, New Mexico, Donal (Michelle) Bilbrey of Spur, daughters; Anita Chunn,  Dee Bradford and Kacee Bradford of Crosbyton, Desti Bradford of San Angelo and Char Bradford of Portage, Indiana.  A brother, Tommy Henderson (Ruby) of Arkansas, nine grandchildren and 8  great-grandchildren, numerous in laws, nieces and nephews   She also leaves behind her 2 chihuahuas who adored her. She was proceeded in death by her parents EL and Clairsie, sister, Glenda, brother Alton, 2 nephews Billy Moore and Travis Henderson   

A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, June 11, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Bethel Baptist in Spur, TX.  In lieu of flowers a donation can be made to Alzheimer’s Foundation of America https://alzfdn.org/support-us/donate/
