Peggy Adelia Gilmore (Nixon), born on December 1, 1941, went to be with our Heavenly Father on May 5, 2025. Peggy was a devoted member of the Missionary Baptist Church of Paducah, TX and felt led to support the church's work throughout her life. She attended school in Paducah, where she built many cherished memories.
Peggy is survived by her loving husband, James Don Gilmore, whom she married on December 17, 1961. She leaves behind her daughter, Karla Tipton (Terry), and her son, Gary Gilmore (Dana). Peggy was a proud grandmother to three grandsons: Jeff King (Jessica), Colton King (Gabriella), and James Gilmore (Alexis), and a beloved great-grandmother to six great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her two sisters, Patricia and Phyllis.
Peggy's life was marked by her unwavering faith, dedication to her family, and her generous spirit. She was known for making the best sweet tea and her cooking was beyond compare, truly feeding the soul. Peggy was a faithful Christian, a devoted farmer's wife, and a loving mother and grannie. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
