Perla Joe Wilson Arnold died peacefully on September 27 in Jayton, Texas at the age of 92. Perla was born on December 7, 1932, in Rochester, Texas to Jessie and Jettie Arnold. She graduated from Spur High School in 1950 and later received a Master's degree in Education from Texas Tech University. She married Tommy Wilson in 1951. Over the next few years, the couple welcomed three children into their home.
Her children remember her as a loving, fun, practical mother who encouraged them to pursue their goals. Perla is survived by her daughter Stefanie Gannon (Eddie) of Jayton, Texas; daughter Alicia Heflin (Bruce) of Whiteface, Texas; son Kelly Wilson of Girard, Texas; grandsons: Mitch Willis, Dearl Martin, Andy Willis, Kelly Gannon, Colby Gannon and several great grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings: Betty Beadle (Guinn). Alice Kidd (Lee), and Donnie Arnold. She is preceded in death by: her Oparents, her husband, and her brother Jimmie Arnold.
Perla was a very crafty person who loved sharing her creations with others. She loved line-dancing, shopping and traveling. She taught school for many years and was passionate and dedicated about educating students. She was an active and dedicated member of the First Baptist Church and often volunteered at community functions.
A graveside service funeral is scheduled for 10:00 AM Wednesday, October 1, 2025 at Jayton Cemetery. Bro. David Jones will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to a local charity of your choice.
