On December 5, 1931, Bud and Eunice Biddy began their family with the birth of their son, Prentiss Doyle (PD) Biddy.
Prentiss was raised in Paducah, Texas where his love of the outdoors and animals flourished. Hunting and fishing were his passions, and he excelled in both.
On June 1, 1950, Prentiss married the love of his life, Ira Dell (Ladye) Jones. They spent 73 years together. While working for Shell Oil Company, Prentiss and his family traveled all over the United States, and after 30 years, they retired to Paducah, the place they called home. Traditional retirement was not for Prentiss, and he was soon back working with Shell Oil as an independent contractor. After several more years with Shell Oil, Prentiss returned to his lifelong passion of hunting and fishing by operating a hunting camp in South Texas with Ladye for 10 years.
Anyone who knew Prentiss knew he was a man’s man, and his hand shake was his word. His sense of humor and the ability to tell engaging stories made him many friends over the years.
On September 22, 2023, Prentiss went to his heavenly home. He is survived by his wife, Ladye, daughter, Connie Moore of Roanoke, Texas, son, Bob Biddy of Paducah, Texas, four grandchildren: Shane, Brandon, Marcy, and Robert, and six great-grandchildren.
He is loved and adored by his family, and tales will be told about him every time we gather.
