Reba Jo (Boyles) Gilbert

Reba Jo Gilbert 84 of Paducah, Tx passed to her heavenly reward on June 6, 2023 surrounded by her children and grandchildren. She was born on October 22, 1938 in Quitaque, Tx to Cecil and Wenonah Boyles.

On January 8, 1955 she married the love of her life Ronald Gilbert Sr. In the Church of Christ in Paducah, Tx. They were married for a beautiful sixty eight years. Reba and Ronald raised two children Ronald Gilbert Jr, and Cherye Gilbert Fields.

She was lovingly known to many as, "Granny" she had the most genuine unconditional love for her family. She loved to cook for her family, for decades she would cook lunch for the entire family during the work week. At any time you went to her house she would offer you food and drink every single time. No matter the time of day it was she made sure when you left her house you had a full belly.

She was a hardworking, loving, gentle soul that wore many hats over the years. In 1956 while living in Hobbs, NM she worked at the movie theatre selling tickets. She was a telephone operator, book and ledger keeper for JC penny and Phillps 66, and the church of Christ in Paducah for many years. But her most important title she had was Granny. Even her kids and husband called her Granny.

Those left to cherish her wonderful memory are husband Ronald Gilbert Sr., son Ronald Gilbert Jr. (Elizabeth Bishop Gilbert), Daughter Cherye Gilbert Fields (Monte Fields), Grandchildren Heather Fields, Kris Fields, Colby Gilbert (Sierra Boyd Gilbert), Darron Gilbert, Great Grandchildren Blane Blount and Wrenlee Jo Gilbert.

She is preceded in death by her parents and sister, Sadie Marie Price and Glenna Monk.

A visitation is scheduled for Wednesday June 7, 2023 from 6pm to 8pm at Zapata Funeral Home in Paducah, TX. Graveside services will be held Thursday June 8, 2023 at 1pm at the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Paducah, TX officiated by Wayne House under the direction of Zapata Funeral Home.
