Renomia Campbell Obituary

Renomia Lewis Campbell was born in Marietta, Texas on the 13th of November 1931 to the late Goree Lewis and Onivera Nickelberry and late grandparents, Lemon and Eula Nickelberry. She was the one of six siblings,  brother Charlie Johnson (Berkley, CA), sister Minnie Golden (Portland, OR) and was preceded in death by her brother, James Lewis, and sisters, Eula Johnson and Nadine Roscoe. On the 4th of January 2021, Renomia Campbell departed life on earth and was received by God.

Renomia grew up in Marietta, Texas. In 1949, Renomia packed her bags and moved to “the city”, Matador, Texas and the true adventures began… She married Robert Lee Campbell (deceased) and had 12 of the best children a mother could ask for… Janice Brown (Lawrence), Georgia Davis, Bobbie Brown (Harold), Dewayne Campbell (Erma), Cledel Campbell (Jodi), Joe Campbell (deceased), Audrey Campbell, Brenda Campbell, Lester Campbell (Renee), Charlie Campbell (Vivian), Dwight Campbell (Lori), and Yulanda Campbell (Ronald).

Renomia was a poised and meek woman who loved her family and the Lord. She enjoyed cooking and everyone LOVED her peach cobbler. She spent her career as a housekeeper and with each house, came more family. She took pride in her work and instilled that same pride in her children. She was very active in the church. She served in the Women’s Mission, sang in the choir and a host of other duties at the church.

After getting all of those kids out of the house and years of hard work, Renomia spent her days relaxing at home quilting, chatting with her few friends, and just enjoying life.

Renomia, not only leaves 11 children to cherish her life, she leaves: 26 Grandchildren, 44 Great-Grandchildren, 12 Great-Great Grandchildren, a host nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends and family have shared their relationship to show their support.
