Ruth Marie (Stinson) Jones

Ruth Marie Jones was born May 31, 1926 to Robert F. and Willa Adeline Stinson in Cottle County, Texas where she grew up and attended Paducah schools. She married Elmer V. Jones on November 9, 1947 in Paducah, Texas and had two children: Jim and Debbie. Elmer and Ruth were married for 68 years. Ruth passed from this life on Wednesday, August 21, 2024.

Ruth was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church of Paducah and the condition of her Bible is a testament to how important her faith was to her. She worked in the Cottle County Tax Office and later worked alongside Elmer in their insurance agency until retirement. She was the ultimate wife, parent, grandparent, homemaker, cook and caregiver. No doubt heaven must smell like her delicious brownies today!

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, husband Elmer, son Jim, grandson Jason Cheyne, three brothers: Fred, Clinton and E.C. Stinson and one sister, Viola Stinson.

Those left to cherish her memory include daughter Debbie McClure and husband Larry; daughter-in-law, Lisa Minett; granddaughters: Amber Jones, Lara Lung, Lindsey Day and husband Joshua; great grandchildren: Zada Day, Jaxon Day, Zach Barger and wife Tiffany, Tyler Lung, Kyndal Lung; great-great grandson Briggs Barger; sister-in-law Phyllis Jones and numerous nieces and nephews.

Ruth’s family extends a special thank you to the staff at Carillon Skilled Nursing Facility and Beyond Faith Hospice for their loving and compassionate care.
