Ruth (Payne) Willis

Grave Side Services for Ruth Willis 89, of Levelland will be held at 1:00 pm, Thursday, December 14, at the Girard Cemetery. Ruth entered the arms of Jesus December 12, 2023. Ruth was born March 29, 1934, to Velma & Ervin Payne. After meeting Floyd at a church event, they were married July 1, 1958. Floyd & Ruth farmed in the Girard area until they retired in 2001. They worked side by side in the field all while they raised two children. She was an excellent seamstress, she loved to crochet and knit. She also loved working in her garden and flower beds. Ruth was faithful to the Lord, she taught Sunday School and was an active member of her church. Ruth is survived by one daughter & husband, Cathy & Dusty Dowgar of Willis, TX and one son Randy & Paula Willis of Whiteface, TX; 6 grandchildren, Mitch Willis; Dearl & Cheyanne Martin, Andy & Jackie Willis all of Whiteface, Dustan & Meagan Dowgar of Lubbock, Adam & Aimee Dowgar of Wolfforth, Amanda Dowgar of Conroe. 12 great grandkids and one sister Joyce Carty of Idalou. Greeting her in heaven, were her husband, Floyd; her parents, 2 sisters and 4 brothers.
