Sandra Beth Wade "Sandy Beth", 73 of Jayton, TX passed away on February 4, 2023 at 9:49 a.m. in the Palliative ward at Covenant Hospital in Lubbock, TX after a brief illness with her sister by her side.
Sandra was born in Lubbock, TX on August 31, 1949 to Halley Denman and Audrey Lucille (Fuller) Wade. Sandra attended both Girard and Jayton Schools, graduating in 1967 from Jayton High School. After graduation she attended and graduated from Commercial Business College in Abilene. She began her career in the banking business at Kent County State Bank, now Bank of Texas in Jayton.
Leaving Kent County, she moved to Snyder where she worked for West Texas State Bank for 15 years. Due to her parents failing health, she returned to Jayton and her old job accumulating a total of 35 years before retiring in 2021. Her work was one of her greatest joys, she spent 50 years not only loving the work, but loving the people she worked beside and worked for; her customers and friends!
Sandra lived a simple life, 18 years with her two precious cats, read voraciously, 24/7, crocheted beautiful and creative pieces for her friends and family, but with her eyesight failing in her later years she struggled with both. She loved her Lord and His Word! Most of her life she attended First United Methodist Church where she was treasurer for many years. We knew she was ill when she was unable to attend her church in Post, Living Water Apostolic, where she had attended for the past few years.
Sandra was preceded in death by her parents Halley and Lucille Wade, brother Gary Denman Wade, Grandparents Leslie and Alice Wade, Roy, and Laura Fuller, all of Jayton.
She is survived by her sister, Pamela J Wade of Jayton and numerous cousins, relatives, and friends.
Her life will be remembered and celebrated in Jayton on Saturday, February 11, 2023, with a Memorial Service at the Jayton Community Center at 1:30 p.m. Family will be served lunch at the community center at 11:30.
In lieu of flowers the family is requesting that contributions and gifts be made to the Palliative Ward at Covenant Hospital in Lubbock, who took such wonderful care of Sandra, or at the Kent County Food Bank, where Sandra was treasurer for many years.
