Sharlene Fitzgerald Drennan, 86 years old, died Monday, October 17, 2022, in Jayton, Texas, at the Kent
County Nursing Home.
Sharlene was born April 30, 1936, in Munday, Texas. She married Billy George Drennan on March 15,
1953. Together, they raised three children on the Pitchfork Ranch and provided the best upbringing any
child could have ever wanted. When they first got married, she wasn’t very handy in the kitchen;
however, she came to love cooking and creating great recipes. She had a wicked sense of humor, was
an avid reader, and could work crossword puzzles in record time, using a pen. She retired from the
United States Department of Agriculture in 2001, after many years of dedicated service both in Guthrie
and Spur.
She was preceded in death by her father, Cecil Fitzgerald; mother, Mildred Draper Fitzgerald; sister,
Marquietta Ward; brother, Billy Frank Fitzgerald, and her beloved husband, Billy George Drennan.
She is survived by her sister, Wynelle Craft; children: Steve (Donna) Drennan, Becky (Roy) Gibson, and
Shelly (Kevin) Marshall; grandchildren: Stefanie Drennan, Amanda (Travis) Lehman, Ty (Jennifer) Gibson,
Kelsay Marshall, Dillon Marshall, Wyatt (Brittany) Marshall, Stonii Horton and Koki Horton; great-
grandchildren: Ace Ericsson, Georgia Ericsson, Milli Holly, Trista Lehman, Austin Lehman, Brynlee
Gibson, Emma Marshall and Weston Marshall; and a host of nieces and nephews.
