Sonja Jan (Rushin) Smith

Sonja Jan (Rushin) Smith, 67, of Paducah TX, passed away on June 8th, 2020 in Lubbock Texas

Sonja was born in Paducah to Willie and Sue Roberts Rushin on January 24th, 1953. She graduated from Paducah High School in May 1971. She married Joe Don Smith on January 13th,2001. She worked at Paducah Clinic for many years and at the First National Bank. She was involved in Beta Sigma Phi. 

Sonja is preceded in death by her parents; Willie and Sue Rushin, husband, Joe Don Smith and grandson Lukas Taylor. 

Sonja is survived by Daughter, Sabra and husband Timothy Martinez; Son, Chad Mayberry, Grandchildren; Logan, Tatum, Kendra and Kailey . Great Grandchildren; Kai and Kailiegh; Brother, Mitchell Rushin and wife Carla; Sister, Brooke Mathis and husband Eric; Nephews Dustin and Camron Rushin, and Easton Mathis; Niece, Ericka Mathis; Great Nieces Emery Mathis and Brynlee Rushin and great nephew Brax Rushin and a host of other family members and friends.

Visitation will be 6 pm to 8 pm Thursday 11th 2020 at Zapata Funeral Home

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Friday June,12th, 2020 at Paducah Church of Christ with Eric Mathis officiating, Burial will follow at The Garden of Memories cemetery under the direction of  Zapata Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Ben Blount, Randy Fields, Sherman Stephens, Steve Beck, Tommy Brown and Johnny Smith.  Honorary Pallbearers, Pete King, Keith Whatley, Steve Whatley

Memorials may be given to The Garden of Memories Cemetery Fund
