Valene Kay Schmidt

Valene Kay Taylor Schmidt was born March 9, 1948 in Crosbyton, TX to Jonah Taylor and Catherine Nina Webb Taylor. She was a loving wife to her husband John Randle Schmidt for 55 years. They were married on August 6, 1965 and had two children. 

She is survived by husband, John of Spur, TX, son, Jaylon and wife Lindy of Arlington,TX, her daughter, Jolynn of Spur,TX, granddaughter, Savannah of San Angelo, TX and grandson, Julian of Fort Worth, TX. 

She enjoyed working outside in her several gardens, spending time with her animals, watching the history channel, and traveling with her family. She spent her career as an office manager for several doctor’s offices in Weatherford and Plainview. Her favorite plants were honeysuckle, hydrangeas, roses, lavender, and ivy. Her favorite trees were cyprus, willow, Japanese cherry blossom, and mimosa. She loved her dog Boudreaux, her lap cat Roscoe, and her shoulder cat Pumpkin. She had a love of learning that was unparalleled and never died as she aged.

Valene died on the morning of November 12th, 2020. She was surrounded by her daughter and granddaughter at the time. Condolences can be sent to 601 Willard Avenue in Spur, TX, 79370.
