Vincent (Vince) Elbert Sandlin, 86 of Tishomingo Oklahoma transitioned to his heavenly home May 2, 2023. Vince was born October 28, 1936 and was one of four children born to the late Frank and Ruby (Taylor) Sandlin. Vince was a proud 1954 graduate of Dumas High School, Dumas, Texas.
Vince was a hard worker and worked in the oil field, was a foreman of Goodpasture Incorporated in Dimmitt, Texas and later returned to Paducah, TX to manage Paducah Lumber Company. He was also known as a talented carpenter.
Vince was passionate about serving the Lord and he was a man of great faith. He ministered in Dimmitt, Texas as the youth minister and worship leader, and later began ministering the gospel as an evangelist and a pastor. His greatest joy was worshipping in song with a voice that ranged from tenor to bass.
One of Vince’s greatest past-times was sports and he was a huge fan of the Paducah Dragons. While his health allowed, he very rarely missed a football or basketball game.
Vince is survived by three children; LaCretia Golden of Tishomingo, Oklahoma, Greg Sandlin and wife Brazos of Rifle, Colorado and Kathy Jordan and husband Lindy of San Angelo, Texas. Seven grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren knew him as Papaw with his first great-great grandchild on the way. He also leaves behind a brother, Verlin Sandlin (wife Mary) of Comanche, Texas and brother-in-law Doyle Wheeler of Canyon, Texas.
Vince was preceded in death by a brother Paul Douglas, his parents, and sister Vanice Camellia Wheeler.
For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present nor things go come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:38-39
