William Roddy Bell was born February 13th 1945 to R.J. and Rita Bell in Spur, Texas. He was raised in Spur with his two brothers, Alexander Duke and Robert Hardy Bell, and his sister Rita Julia Bell.
On August 12,1976, in Lubbock, Texas, he married Cathy Howell Bell. Together, they raised three children: Sheldon Bryan Bell of Quinlan, Texas; Cindy Page (Derrell) of Palisade, Nebraska; and Andrea Fischer (Derek) of Richmond, Texas. Over the years their family grew to include 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren, each of whom brought joy to his life. Roddy was very family orientated and loved being surrounded by all of his loved ones.
Roddy was immensely proud of his military service in the United States Army as a radio technician during the Vietnam Era. He was exceptionally proud of his family members that followed in his foot steps: his son Bryan who served in the United States Navy, his daughter Andrea who served in the United States Army, his son-in-law Derek who served in the United States Navy, and his grandson Riggan who is still actively serving in the United States Army.
Roddy loved to be with is grandchildren and to watch all of their different activities. He had a fond love for sports, consistently watching all Texas Tech sports, the Texas Rangers, and the Dallas Cowboys. Friends and family knew that if it was after 3pm where they could find him. He was relaxing with a Jack and water remembering all of the good life had to offer.
He is Survived in life by his Wife Cathy Bell, his Children Bryan Bell, Cindy Page, and Andrea Fischer, his brothers Alexander Duke and Robert Hardy Bell, 8 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents R.J. and Rita Bell and his sister Rita Julia Bell.
