Wog Ainsworth, a pillar of strength, love, and unwavering devotion, was born on May 3, 1939, in Enloe, Texas, to Earnest and Beatrice Ainsworth. From his earliest days, Wog learned the value of hard work and humility, working side by side with his father in the fields. But it was his boundless heart and deep love for family that truly defined his life.
As a young man in the 1950s, Wog set out from Enloe to Wellington, Texas, always guided by his determination to build a better life. By 1960, he and the love of his life, Johnnie Mae, began their lifelong journey together in Hackberry then Paducah, Texas. Their love story began when Wog was just 16 and Johnnie Mae was 14, and from that moment on, they were inseparable—partners in every sense of the word. Their devotion to each other was an inspiration to everyone who knew them, a shining example of true and lasting love.
Wog spent more than 50 years working the land of Cottle County, tending to farms and nurturing friendships that lasted a lifetime. He was more than just a farmhand; he was a trusted friend and honorary family member to those he worked with, including the Blounts, Walls, Tuckers and the Bratton family. Wog’s reputation as one of the hardest working men in town was matched only by his kindness, generosity, and genuine care for others.
But above all else, Wog’s greatest pride and joy was his family. He and Johnnie Mae built a beautiful legacy together, raising 13 children and nurturing a family tree. Wog’s home was always filled with laughter, love, and the warmth of family gatherings. He cherished every moment spent with his children and grandchildren, never missing an opportunity to offer a word of wisdom, a helping hand, or a warm embrace.
Wog’s love for Johnnie Mae was the heartbeat of his life. Their bond was unbreakable, their partnership unwavering through every joy and every challenge. He adored her beyond measure, and together they created a home where love and happiness was the foundation and family was everything.
Wog is preceded in death by his parents, Earnest and Beatrice Ainsworth; his siblings Lenora Jones, Goldie Bowie, Tinnie Ainsworth, Retha Ainsworth, Curtis Lee Ainsworth, Earnest Ainsworth, John Oliver Ainsworth, Mary Ainsworth, Bearks Ainsworth; and his beloved daughter, Cinderella Ainsworth.
He leaves behind his devoted wife, Johnnie Mae; sister Clarice Ainsworth, brother CW Ainsworth, and children (Sandra Ainsworth, Deloris Ainsworth, Bruce Rollerson, Earnestine (Larry Moore), Wilma Ainsworth (Lester Mosley), Gerelene (Lonnie Hurd), Curtis Ainsworth, Teresa Hall, Katherine (Bart King), April Ainsworth, Michael (Racquel Evans), Herman (Crystal Ainsworth), Inga (John Simmons); and a legacy of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren who will forever carry his spirit in their hearts.
Wog Ainsworth will be remembered for his strength, his laughter, his work ethic, and the incredible love he poured into his family. He was a man who lived his life with purpose, integrity, and a heart full of love. His memory will live on in the countless lives he touched and in the family he cherished above all else.
